My biggest secret for beautiful skin! And I didn’t have to buy anything!
When I hit my 40, I felt like my skin aged overnight. It was stressful. I’d always been known for having great skin – thanks to my grandmother’s genes as well as a healthy lifestyle. But all of a sudden my skin deteriorated.
I tried also sorts of creams (I spent a fortune), derma rollers, and facials. And while these all contributed to making sure my skin was a healthy as possible, they were not the thing that created the biggest change.
You may already know what the secret it. Can you guess?
It was sleeping on my back. When you lie on your side or on your stomach, it pushes your skin into awkward positions. And if you’re like most women, you are sleeping from 6-8 hours a night. That’s a long time for your skin to be squashed into a pillow. Now that I am technically in my mid-forties (as of last week), my skin is looking better than it did four years ago.
If you struggle to sleep on your back, try doing it for a just part of the night at first. Then as you get more used to it, up the amount of time you spend lying on your back. If you have lower back pain, what I have found to be most beneficial is having a pillow under my knees.
If you really must sleep on your side to be comfortable – after all there’s not point looking gorgeous if you’re in pain or don’t get enough sleep – invest in a satin or silk pillowcase. There are some very expensive ones out there, but I just got myself a cheap satin one from Spotlight. It has the added advantage of keeping your hair smooth as well.
Have a wonderful day!
